Melanie, thanks for your comment and sorry for my late response, but I've been off the computer for a day or two. It is, sad to say, unsurprising. The big money interests in the U.S. have had a concerted effort to dismantle environmental protections. They have been working on creating a Supreme Court friendly to their ideas for decades. And I've just been going through the document of this week's budget legislation that weakens our country's environmental law. AUGH!!!!!
