Bonnie, you raise a good point that I failed to mention in my Substack. Many Evangelicals as well as other Christians believe that we are in the end times, so any effort to conserve or save the Earth is a fools errand. I remember this was the belief of James Watt, Ronald Reagan's Interior Secretary, who thought conservation was a joke. Eschatological beliefs are part of the goings on in the world as we speak.

Crazy factoid is the evangelicals made up the rapture in the 70s. A lot of this stuff got refined in the 70s.
So people have to all become atheist or everyone's gonna die. Lord have mercy.
