Restaurant food is something I struggle with as I have a strong cultural inclination to eat everything and a tendency to put on weight at the slightest over-eating. And I hate food waste. I definitely look for smaller, lighter meals.

Melanie, I think everybody has a bit of trouble, eating more than we should. There are strategies: sharing plates or ordering modestly knowing you can order more if you want later. My wife can be helpful with these.

Such an important topic! I never realized how much food waste can be linked to social dynamics at the table. It’s easy to over-order when everyone’s excited, but the environmental impact is huge. I carry my own reusable, washable container so I can pack up left overs. Usually a meal out means I have enough for lunch the next day.
