As we know, once government uses lesser standards for public health solutions some are bound to suffer. It’s best to always keep standards high. Let’s hope the city of Imperial Beach looks out for all its citizens and tourists.

If they can show that surfers and beachgoers at Imperial Beach have not suffered health effects from tainted water (under the old testing), then they might say that the goal, public health, is still maintained, even though the tests find nasty DNA in the water.

I agree- only if tests show long range effects for cancer, birth defects, and other diseases.
Yes! Great point. Swimmers and surfers may not come down with diarrhea or fevers, but the long-term health effects could be pretty nasty.
