The advice to avoid using Roundup is not supported. Roundup affects pollinators when it is sprayed on flowering plants that they would otherwise visit. It does not directly affect insects. Directed application of Roundup to kill invasive weeds is one of the most effective ways of promoting native pollinators -- you just need to know which plants to spray!

Thanks for chiming in, David. And that’s a good point. Glyphosate can be very effective in getting rid of invasives. Its overuse is nonetheless part of the problem.
